The Sash Window Man

Planning & Building Regulations

Much of the work that we undertake is restoration of existing windows and is therefore not normally subject to planning permission or building regulation approval. If you are a leaseholder, you may first need to get permission from your landlord or management company before carrying out any work on your windows.

Are You Restoring Or Repairing An Existing Window?

There should not be any need for compliance with building regulations or planning permission. We can advise you further when we come to look at the windows.

Do You Live In A Listed Building Or In A Conservation Area?

It is likely that you will need building regulation approval or planning permission for any work carried out on your windows. Please check with your local planning office or let us do it for you.

Are You Intending To Completely Replace One Or More Of Your Windows?

You will need to comply with building regulations. If you need help with your application or you would like us to do it for you, just let us know.

If you need further information about planning and building regulations you should contact your local council or visit www.planningportal.gov.uk
